1. Will my gift be used for the specific purpose and item that I choose?

To the best of our ability, yes. However, if that particular gift has already been given or that purpose fulfilled, LSS will choose a destination for your gift that is as close as possible to your original intent.

2. May I give more than one gift – divide my gift among several recipients?

Yes! We welcome your willingness to benefit multiple clients and programs!

3. Where does my money go?

See question #1, above. If you check “area of greatest need,” your gift will go into the LSS unrestricted fund, permitting our staff to make decisions about which clients and programs have the most urgent needs. If you designate your gift for a particular client group or item or service, we will apply your gift as you wish, unless that need has already been met.

4. Will I get a confirmation that my gift has been received in the field?

No, but you will receive an acknowledgment and expression of our gratitude for your generosity from the LSS Foundation.

5. How secure is my information over the web?

All on-line transactions to LSS are done on a secure server. This means that information entered on the transaction page is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) before transmission and therefore it is secure.

6. I would rather not give my gift on-line. What are my alternatives?

If you are at all concerned about placing your order online, we can process your gift order over the phone. Call us at 1.781.997.0811 or toll free at 1.877.500.8263 ext. 811 Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST. If you order your gift by phone, you will also be asked to give your credit card information.

And of course you may always mail your gift check to: LSS Foundation, 888 Worcester Street, Suite 160, Wellesley, MA 02482. Be sure to designate which catalog item you are choosing.

7. Will I receive a receipt for my gift and is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. We will send your receipt via email if you donate online. If you donate by phone or U.S. mail we will mail you your receipt as soon as we have processed your gift. Your gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

8. How does the e-card work?


First, choose a loved one or friend to honor. Select a gift and make your donation online or by phone. After your payment is processed, you will be directed to a page where you have the option to send an e-card to announce your gift. You will be able to enter your honoree’s name and information and write a personal greeting.

9. What is included in the price of the gift?


Included in the gift amount is the cost of the item/service plus any administrative costs associated with delivering the item and/or service.
